My enthusiasm for the industry is obvious and contagious. I believe strongly that hard work and dedication has helped me to succeed. I have been in the industry for over 20 years, and I remain committed to continuing education as well as leading talented stylists in advanced hairstyling, colouring and perming techniques. Stylists who work with me are encouraged to pursue their specialties and achieve the highest level of professional development. Teamwork is the hallmark of my success in my salon and in my involvement with major hair companies. I focus on my career and I strive to live my beliefs, that is, ones personal and professional philosophy must operate together for success.

Amanda - Manager

Hair FX is an exceptional salon, the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable and the staff exciting and down to earth. I have assisted Michael in creating that atmosphere by managing the salon since 2006. I often travel with Michael and the hairstylists for educational training. My main focus during these trips is acquiring managerial skills that would better help our salon and our clients.

Kelsey - Front End

This salon is a family and our clients are relatives in need of a warm greeting and a cup of coffee. That is what I do; I take care of all your needs. I started here in the beginning of 2008 and since then I have been enticed by this industry. I have been a model for the stylists many times and each time Ive enjoyed my new style. My favourite part of my career is being able to enjoy the before and after looks of each client and the smiles they share when they leave.

Jennah - Associate

I started my journey at hair FX, as a receptionist in the fall of 2010. Since then I have fallen in love with the industry. Working at the front end, I have been lucky enough to attend the education that the salon has provided and it has inspired me to go into the hair industry myself. I am excited to learn and grow with the talented staff here at hair FX and I look forward to continuing my career as a stylist in the future!

Kara - Level 4A

Ive been a hairstylist for 16 years; working most of them at Hair FX Incorporated. This salon has given me the opportunity to pass on my knowledge as an educator to new stylists. Keeping up with whats new is what fuels my creativity. Attending seminars near and far keeps things fresh. I have worked backstage at hair shows with many of the leading hair companies including Wella, Joico, Graham Webb and Redken. Ive learnt from some of the best! I believe you need to follow your heart to be happy. Why wait for it to happen, embrace it! When you look great you feel great!

Janey - Level 3

I love to do hair. I've been a hairstylist at Hair FX since 1999 and love every moment of it. I've traveled to many places and have been to the biggest Redken International conferences, so that I can study and learn. Competition is an important part of my career and I look forward to testing my abilities again soon. Making people beautiful is the most satisfying feeling. Every day and every client is an experience on its own. Being creative is an art and doing art is my life. My passion is to create custom styles for every hair type. I am entirely devoted to satisfying the needs of my clients.

Pamela - Level 3

My passion for hair began at a young age, inspired by both art and fashion. My objective is to create a masterpiece on each guest to best suit his or her personal style. I believe the key to success is through ongoing education and training. I specialize in creating personalized haircuts and unique colour placements. I have been in the hair industry since 2001 and joined the Hair FX team in 2007. Being part of this team has allowed me to take my creativity to the next level, by working with the Blue Lightning dance team, participating in photo shoots, fashion shows, and competitions. I was part of the Joico Hair Fantasy team where we recently won first place. I also placed third in the Redken Cover Competition in both 2008 and 2009.

Dana - Level 2

I've always been an outgoing and creative person. I began my career as a hairstylist at Hair FX in 2005, starting out as an associate. I have since become a full time Level 2 hairstylist. My true passion in this industry is working behind the chair. I have had great opportunities working outside of the salon, like traveling with the Blue Lightening Dance team since 2006 to different cities for the Grey Cup. These experiences, along with many others have helped me grow as a stylist and see different aspects of this amazing industry. Continuing education is not an option in my mind. From Winnipeg to Las Vegas, Im always looking to stay current. I am highly driven, enthusiastic and my love for the industry keeps growing.

Kelly - Level 1 *On maternity leave*

Styling hair is one of my creative outlets. Ive been in this industry since 2005. I have my Red Seal certificate in hairstyling. I love attending Redken courses. Education is brought to us in a way that is exciting, fashion forward and cutting edge. I enjoy cutting and colouring both male and female clients. I excel in working with naturally curly hair. I like to bring out a clients natural beauty by working with hair texturemay it be, wavy, soft, coarse or blunt. I also like stepping out of the box and experimenting with clients who are interested in something completely different.

Melinda - Level 2

Four words to describe why I do what I do: I. Love. Doing. Hair.The moment I decided to make the career switch from floral design to hairstyling, I knew I was doing the right thing. Though I enjoyed my previous career and my other artistic interests, there seemed to be something missing and I realized that through all of my experiences, the ones that remain the most memorable are the times when I have shared that creativity with others in a personal and interactive way. The beauty that comes from those awesome experiences is what I love most about creative expression, and that's where you and your hair-long, short, curly, wavy or straight-come in. Ten years later I'm still having fun, and enjoying it more than ever. I love my job. I'm committed to educating myself in all aspects of the hairstyling industry in order to make you, my clients, look your best and feel your best.

Amy - Level 2

I came to Hair FX because of its commitment to education, which is very important to me. I have always wanted to be on the cutting edge of fashion and hair design. I have been in this industry since 2007 and with each passing year, my love for this career grows. I thrive on meeting new people and introducing them to my fresh ideas. I love all aspects of the industry but my passion lies in the area of creative colour placement and trendy haircuts. My goal is to always stay up-to-date and modern with my clients.

James - Level 1

I began my training in hairstyling because I enjoy interacting with people and using my creativity to its fullest potential. I have been in the hair industry since the fall of 2006. I like to experiment and create fashion-forward styles. Natural, soft looks for every day to funky and eccentric works of art. I like to compete in every hair competition presented. Even if I may not win, I enjoy the experience of sending an over-the-top hairstyle down the runway

Chloe Joy - Level 1

I joined the Hair FX team in 2008, immediately after graduating from Capelli Academy. I recently completed the associate program and am now a full time stylist. I spent my time as an associate observing, helping and gathering information from my co-workers, in the hopes of gaining a well-rounded and thorough education, and I feel I did just that. I have a knack for working with coarse, curly, unruly and high maintenance hair and I adore creating and maintaining beautiful blondes. Sit back, relax and enjoy your service at Hair FX. Janis - Front End

Being in the hair industry for 5 years, I’ve learned so much from everyone at Hair FX.  I’ve grown as a stylist and I’m fortunate enough to have worked with the best team, to have been able to fulfill my dream of becoming a licensed Stylist. Being a chameleon in this industry I am now grateful to be on the other side of the wall.  Front end has given me the opportunity to have a little one on one with each client, which gives me the utmost happiness seeing everyone walk out with a smile.So if you have any questions feel free to ask away, I’m an open book. 

Amy Wynn- Entry Level

I’ve been at Hair FX since the winter of 2008, starting out as a client and joining the staff as a stylist in 2010. I’ve known that I wanted to work in the hair industry since I was very young; I’ve always been driven by fashion, makeup and of course, hair. It allows me to be creative and work in an environment that inspires me every day. Staying up to date on education is something that is very important to me, whether I’m working on set of a photo shoot or behind my chair at the salon; I’m always up for a new challenge.

Kelsey C- Entry Level

I am a strong believer that fashion is an extension of a person’s personality. Whether it’s a new pair of shoes or a new set of highlights. It’s a way of showing who we are, who we’d like to be and how we want the world to perceive us. As a blonde (and a crazy one, at that!) there is nothing more satisfying than walking out of the salon feeling confident and like the you that you’re meant to be. As people we are constantly reinventing ourselves and our identities, and I love that this industry follows suit. I am committed to my education to offer modern and classic personalized looks for each of my clients. 

Alana - Level 1

I began as a client at Hair Fx and from the moment I walked in, I loved the atmosphere that the stylists had created. I’ve always wanted to be part of a positive team environment and I have finally found it. After my training at Winnipeg Technical College I had a meeting with Michael  and the rest is history. There is no other way to describe my passion other then I absolutely love hair. I enjoy the personal aspect of this career as well as making my clients feel gorgeous and pampered.

Lauren - Level 1

My passion for hair started in my teenage years. I always wanted something new, something fresh and bold.  I became inspired by fashion, art, and above all my hairstylist.  She urged me to pursue this as a career; what did I have to lose?Through education I began to recognize my creative instant and skill.  Realizing that I have a natural talent in cutting, colouring and styling, made me strive to be the best hairstylist I could possibly be. That brought me to Hair FX, an upbeat, friendly, and cutting edge salon!  Being able to gain even more education after graduating from the Scientific Marvel program in 2004, has provided me with the confidence and knowledge necessary to launch my career.  I hope to see you in my chair, so I can show my talent and experience!

Stacey - Associate

I am a very passionate and creative individual, who thrives on making people happy!  I share the philosophy of Hair FX, “The only thing more important than being dedicated to what we do, Is to be dedicated to who we are doing it for.”   I am honored to say that I work with some of the most talented and educated stylists in the industry!  This allows me to take advantage of learning, growing and continuing my education with my constant form of inspiration, MY TEAM MATES!  I strive to be the best I can be and love to put my artistic limits by involving myself in hair shows, photo shoots, competitions, theatre, and the Blue Lightening Dance Team.  I am looking forward to building my career and seeing what the future has in store for me, here at Hair FX!

Lyndsi - Associate

I have always been fascinated with the art of hair. From the moment I began hair school, I have always wanted to learn more and further my education. This is why Hair Fx is the perfect place for me. I began my career at Hair Fx in May 2011 and I have never looked back. Everyday I learn from the best stylists in the industry. They continue to inspire and motivate me to achieve my goals. I'm aspiring to one day be the salon educator, and teach others as greatly as I have been taught.

Samantha- Level 1

I fell in love with this industry in 2007 and made a promise to myself to be the best that I can be and strive to succeed.  I am currently working on my bachelors of business at the University of Winnipeg and always had a passion for creativity. Working in this industry and especially at Hair FX has made me grow as an individual and encouraged me to create personalized styles that push me beyond my borders.  I want you to feel beautiful and confident about yourself and I will go out of my way to achieve that goal.
